Strategy of cultural and tourist valorization of the Sculpture Park Dubrova for the period from 2020 to 2030

We are finishing a great project of creating the “Strategy of cultural and tourist valorization of the Sculpture Park Dubrova”, in cooperation with the City of Labin, and for the project

“RECOLOR – Reviving and EnhanCing artwOrks Landscapes Of the adRiatic” co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Cross-border Cooperation Program INTERREG V-A Italy – Croatia 2014-2020. (https://www.labin.hr/projekt-recolor)

The development of the Strategy began at the beginning of January 2020, and in the meantime, we have developed a “Branding Strategy of the Sculpture Park Dubrova and the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium” as an integral part of this Strategy, an initial step towards development programs, and a prerequisite for implementing the Strategy. Cooperation with the City of Labin has been ongoing since our establishment, and so far, we have participated in several projects funded by EU in which the City of Labin (https://www.labin.hr) was a partner, as well as other projects in which the City was the holder, and we were professional associates. The cooperation on this project showed that public administration can also be flexible and in line with current situation, because we had the opportunity to jointly reschedule activities in accordance with measures to protect against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in extension of deadline, but also in successfully completed tasks. Thank you, Ana Černjul, for the excellent cooperation. The City of Labin might be one of a few cities that really want to support all those who work for the benefit of the community and support the development of resources that need development support. We also had excellent cooperation with the Istria County (IC), which is also our “old” collaborator in the development of the “Regional Youth Program of the Istrian County”. We would especially like to emphasize the cooperation with Mr. Torbica who is the head of the Board for Culture and Homeland of Istrian County, and who is also a great connoisseur and expert of the Istrian culture and heritage, so his participation has greatly contributed to the development of this Strategy. Collaborators on the development were the Tourist Board of the City of Labin TZ Sveta Nedelja, Administrative Department for Sustainable Development IC, Administrative Department for Tourism IC, etc. Also, through the development of this Strategy we had the opportunity to work well with enthusiastic and tireless members of the association “Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium”, which was given to manage the space of the Sculpture Park Dubrova because the members of this association, artists and other enthusiasts designed and  realized this unique open-air park/museum. We are proud to have had the opportunity to develop this Strategy. The planned deadline for printing the bilingual publication is mid-August, so the promotion of this important document for the preservation and development of the Sculpture Park Dubrova is expected, as well as the initiation of procedures for protection of cultural property and development of cultural tourism in this area (https://parkdubrova.eu).
