Mapping the needs in the Kastav and surrounding municipalities area – Friends Daycare Center

One of the goals of the Half-day stay and Psychosocial support program at the “Friends Daycare Center”, is to expand the network of available social services in the community where persons with disabilities live. That is their right.

In order to bring social services closer to persons with disabilities and make them available in the community, the DIP launched, in cooperation and with the support of the City of Kastav, a series of activities – a preparatory phase or examination of the needs of persons with disabilities for social services of half-day stay and Psychosocial support, for the citizens of Kastav and the surrounding municipalities.

Our goal is to inform and make persons with disabilities aware of their right to social services, in accordance with their needs, as well as to examine which needs are the most important to persons with disabilities living in the wider area of Kastavština. We are very happy that the City of Kastav recognized our work and opened the possibility for cooperation to introduce new, better solutions for quality, inclusive, and sustainable life in Kastav and its surroundings. In “Glas Kastavski” there was also an appropriate article about us, in order to bring the citizens closer together and announce our future activities, also announcing a series of meetings and informative workshops in which we will examine the needs of persons with disabilities from the area of the City of Kastav, and other surrounding municipalities. So far, we have gotten under the “skin” of all citizens who visit the “Green Kastav” fair and our promotional stand. We are happy to cooperate and expand the network of social services in areas where there are not enough of them.

The Friends Daycare Center is co-financed by:

1. Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family, and Social Policy, through the 3-year program Friends Daycare Center – expanding the network of social service providers, from June 1^st, 2023 through May 31^st, 2025
