According to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, states have taken steps to ensure the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities, including the right to independent living and inclusion in the community. This right is one of the basic rights that serves as a prerequisite to the right to work and other rights. Our social service programs, which we carry out in the “Daycare Center Friends”, give our members opportunities for independent living and involvement in the community, and they also prevent institutionalization. That which we lack in our work surroundings is “community” – bigger, better and faster; the more flexible inclusion of the community in exercising these rights.
That is why we invite you to support our work and provide an appropriate space for our members to receive proper training for independent living – and to help us in raising funds for a much-needed kitchen adaptation, as well as for the advancement of the work we do, through, currently, two fundraising campaigns with the same purpose:

Article 19. INDEPENDENT LIVING AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY
States parties to this Convention recognize the equal right of all persons with disabilities to live in the community, with the same right to choose as other persons, and shall take effective and appropriate measures to facilitate the full enjoyment of this right and full inclusion and participation in the community by persons with disabilities. , including ensurance of the following:
(a) the possibility for persons with disabilities to choose their place of residence, where and with whom they will live, on an equal basis with others, and that they are not obliged to live in any imposed way of life,
(b) access to a wide range of services provided by various support services to persons with disabilities in their home or residential facilities, including personal assistance necessary for life support and community inclusion, as well as to prevent isolation or segregation from the community,
(c) equal access of persons with disabilities to services, facilities and spaces intended for the general population, and their adequacy to the needs of persons with disabilities.
