CALL FOR “I WANT TO WORK”, Thursday, December 1st, 2022. at 12:00 at Exportdrvo / opening of the photo exhibition of portraits and biographies of PWDs / campaign for advocating the right to work and employment of PWDs “Socially Distant

We invite you to the opening of the photo exhibition of portraits of our young PWDs (persons with disabilities) and their CVs, entitled “I want to work!” on Thursday, December 1^st , 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in Exportdrvo, Rijeka.

With this exhibition, we also mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3^rd, proclaimed by resolution 47/3 of the United Nations General Assembly in 1992, on the occasion of the Decade of Persons with Disabilities (1983-1992).

In order to mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities, it is necessary to make the community aware of the benefits of integrating persons with disabilities into all areas of public life – social, economic, cultural and political. This year our theme is the right to work and employment. The aim of the exhibition is to sensitize the employers and other stakeholders to the possibility of working and employing persons with disabilities, the incentives and advantages of enabling their work and employment.

This exhibition is part of the communication campaign for advocating the right of persons with disabilities to work and employment “Socially Distant”. Your presence is an extremely important message to the public and especially to the employers.

This exhibition is also an activity that we carry out as part of the program of social services of a half-day stay and psychosocial support in the “Friends Daycare Center”, that is, “DIP’s youth club – Ready, steady, work!” – The Primorsko-goranska County, the City of Rijeka, the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy and other donors co-finance the costs of the program.

The opening is also a press conference to which the media and other representatives of the key stakeholders will be invited. All other representatives of the key stakeholders, the Office of the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities and the media, and especially employers, were invited to the opening of the exhibition.

The program of social services of half-day work-occupational daycare and psychosocial support in the “Friends Daycare Center”, through which we train persons with disabilities and other people who need support and care for work and employment in 2022, is co-financed by:
