Volunteer action in DIP – students, parents and socially responsible entrepreneurs (Part 1)

After the preparations for the tender for the lease of the space of the City of Rijeka, we finally auctioned for the the best and most appropriate space in the City of Rijeka, at the moment. On July 9th, 2020, we have completed the auction processes, and on July 17th, 2020, we got the space in Wenzelova 2 street on lease, as well as the lease agreement.

For the purchase of the necessary painting and redecorating materials, we organized a fundraising through a campaign on our Facebook page, but also the fundraiser at the Green Kastav fair. We sought support through intensive networking, and we were helped by the volunteer from the Green Kastav who connected us with Mr. Dževad Osojkić, painter and facade craftsman, otherwise secretary of the Croatian Association of Facade Workers (https://www.huf.hr/kontakt/; https://www.osojkic.hr/kako_nas_naci.htm).

This great man and his team donated their work and help to us, with the organization of the painting of our new home – 224 square meters of space owned by the city, which we leased for 10 years. This example of socially responsible business is what gives us new impetus and optimism for a better tomorrow. Thank you to all the citizens who helped! Today, on July 31st, 2020, with 37 degrees celsius in the city, we have done most of the work, and tomorrow, on August 1st, 2020, we will continue with a new group of volunteers. It goes without saying that all the mandated measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic will be observed.
