We invite you to warm up to new approaches to tourism for persons with disabilities, to which we will contribute through the implementation of a new project called “Tourism for Me!”. More about the project soon!

The workshop is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities. This is the fifth workshop this year on accessible tourism, focusing on the topic of Caring for guests with disabilities and digital solutions. The workshop will be held on October 18th, at the “Diamant” hotel in Poreč, and it will be possible to follow it via “live stream”.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in communication and to master the basic skills of communication and contact with people with different types of disabilities so that our service is complete. We will also offer some digital solutions that will help overcome these challenges.

Guests at the workshop who will share their knowledge and experience are Marinela Dropulić Ružić (Meraklis company) and professors Željka Car and Marin Vuković, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.

The workshop will be interactive, dynamic and, we are sure, interesting the entire time. Like all our workshops so far, the workshops will be recorded and published on the Ministry’s website as educational material.

The first four workshops this year dealt with the accessibility of public tourist infrastructure on beaches and protected natural areas (Šibenik), guest care (Makarska), universal design and reasonable adaptation (Zagreb), and the creation of a tourist product from the aspect of accessibility (Slavonski Brod). You can view recordings and materials from all our workshops on the website of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports at the link: https://mint.gov.hr/turizam-za-sve/pristupacni-turizam/radionice-2023/23392

Investing in affordable tourism is investing in the development of sustainable tourism, it creates added value to the product and gives revenue in the form of a longer season, a greater number of satisfied guests, and a better position on the market.
