Yesterday, December 5th, 2023, we were in great company, the company of awarded volunteers and volunteer organizations, and on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, December 5th.
The award is given by the Volunteer Center of the Smart Association, the City of Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
The DIP was awarded for its work and contribution to the development of volunteer programs as the best organizer of volunteering in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and our Veronica Vrhovnik was praised for her volunteer work.
We are proud that this recognition of the community in which we live and work has come on our tenth anniversary of activity, so it is also the biggest thank you to all the volunteers who have built the path with us, so far, towards an inclusive society and a community that cares for all its members. And there were very, very many of them, because on average, about 70 to 80 young volunteers come and volunteer each year, to whom we want to convey all the love and knowledge we have about what we do. We were nominated by our partner association, Zeleni Kastav, and Irena Kukurin Barić, https://www.facebook.com/zelenikastav, at whose fairs we regularly participante, and the representative of the Zeleni Kastav association, Radmila Rakas, was with us at the award ceremony. Thanks also to Zelen Kastvo for the nomination.
We are proud of all the volunteers who build a better community with us, because as we always say and tell everyone: We can’t make it without volunteers!
