Meeting of authors in the colony „authors of comics and illustrations of Kvarner“ took place from 21.10. until 24.10. 2021. year in DIP, Wenzel 2/1.
We were extremely satisfed to be the hosts to authors of comics and illustrations from the whole Croatia.

Kvarner makes several activities with these goals: intensify work on promoting comics and illustrations in Primorsko-goranska županija and Croatia, shaping the audience and creating new artwork.
The exibition of drawing of Croatian authors in this area (PGŽ) make a great step forward in cultural products and artistic expression, where they are available to the public. Exhibited illustration which were created in the past 10 years showed the greatness of croatian comics and illustrations, Permanent evidence of this value is printed in a catalogue. We are proud to have organised this colony, live during these difficult times.

We are preparing for the sequel of the colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner: call for authors past October, weekend in Rijeka with authors, creating new work, several exhibitions… just a little more and we have a program with the authors.

Catalogue handed over to donators
28.7.2021. we finally handed over catalogues to the donators without which we couldn’t make without their help. We are hoping authors were given a chance and additional motivation for their work. In the area of our association we handed a catalogue to the president of donators @Poslovni klub Partneri, gosp. Borisu Popoviću, Thanks to Poslovni klub Poslovni klub Partneri, Teklić, Primorsko-goranska županija, Grad Rijeka, Damir Steinfl, Damir Stojnic, Matija Pisačić, Novi list, Dubravko Mataković, Miroslav Sekulic-Struja. Irena Jukić Pranjić, KOMIKAZE, LAVANDERMAN We will see you all the second colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner in fall.
First edition of the catalogue was sent by post to the authors, and rest can be sent by email: [email protected] or [email protected].
Promotion of the catalogue of the first colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner
On Monday, 12.7.2021. we succeded in promoting the catalogue of the colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner, despite the high temperature, on the platou in front the Gervais centre in Opatija. We thank all of those who attended and supported the cause, authors of comics and illustrations Damir Steinfel, Matija Pisačić, Korina Hunjak, Damir Stojnić, Kristina Đukić, Ivan Šarar, Erni Gigante Dešković, and representatives of media and members of the programmes team DIP.
We give our thanks to PartneRi, Primorsko – goranska županija and Grad Opatija for the financial aid and Grad Rijeka for the support in organising the artwork exibition.
We will see you in fall, we are preparing a meeting for authors of comics and illustrations!

Catalogue is finally being printed. The date of printing will be presented five days before, and all authors will be invited to the promotion as well as donators who made it possible to publish the catalogue and supported the colony. Catalogue of comics and illustrations from this exibition was our first in this area. Even though we are publishers and authors of more publications, in different areas this is our first with which we gained more respect, for authors and their works, and we wanted to truly mark and show the world our comics and illustrations in our area. That is why we decided to publish it in Croatian and English language. We designed it in the form of catalogues from exibitions (a list of artworks with reviews), and we left it to the audience and critics, for them to judge, analyze and value the comics and illustrations. As well as, we want the first exibition as part of the first colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner to be documented so it shows the work of authors in the last ten years to future critics and art historians. As we already mentioned several times, the exibition doesn’t have a curator in the traditional and gallery meaning whose role was left the authors. Authors picked seven tables which represent their work in the past ten years. Art director of the exibition picked two works for the catalogue. The making of the catalogue had it’s phases, people who worked on it, and that was the reason the publishing had a delay. The persistance of Damir Steinfl, who cared about details, he made it possible for the catalogue to be presentable to the public.
March and April 2021.
Right now catalogue from the exibition is in the process, preparation for the colony and setting up a exibition in a different city in the same region (PGŽ). The printing of the catalogue is planned for May, and so is the promotion, and the colony by June or September because of the safety measures..

We are currently preparing the catalogue for the published work of authors of comics and illustrations of Kvarner which were exibited as part of the first colony of authors comics and illustrations of Kvarner which started in November and lasted until the end of December in Exportdrvo Rijeka.
