#daycarecenterfriends #halfdaystay

Our half-day stay program is planned with a holistic and individualized approach to each individual, as well as his/her entire environment, and we implement it through various activities. This week, we continued with a large number of empowerment activities for workplace.

We conducted the activity “Preparation for a job interview”, where we highlighted important factors that should be paid attention to when going to an interview: the way of dressing, non-verbal communication, etiquette, arriving on time, etc. After the introductory discussion, there was a role play through which we “enacted” a job interview, in which one beneficiary was the employer and the other a potential employee. It was very fun and educational, and we heard and learned a lot about each other!

Through diverse work activities, we developed competencies and skills necessary for the profession: Simple tasks of sorting/stacking products; our beneficiaries sort and stack cutlery (forks, spoons and knives) made of biodegradable plastic during work activities. This activity contributes to the development of attention and concentration, distinguishing correct from defective products, and the development of motor skills of fingers and hands. The above is part of the preparation for one of the future jobs, such as assistant workers in sorting and packing jobs, assistant storekeepers in the production department, etc.

Social rehabilitation and social work: at the DIP, we place great emphasis on the development of social skills, and we encourage our beneficiaries to behave politely and communicate actively with their interlocutors every day. This week, our Lucian celebrated his 21st birthday. Birthday celebrations represent an opportunity for the development of positive relationships, socializing and interaction among beneficiaries. DIP members from the psychosocial support group also joined us!

Care and health care: This week, we attended a recreational activity in the fresh air under the mentorship of trainer Marko Ukropina. In addition to being physically active, we practiced coordination of movements under strain, which is an extremely difficult and demanding exercise – but we did it successfully!

Diet: Every day, our members have the option of choosing dishes according to their own preferences, however, it is important to point out that the choice includes healthy dishes that include foods, such as fish or meat, in combination with vegetables or other healthy side dishes. Wednesday is the day of “culinary activities at the DIP” – this Wednesday, we prepared savory and sweet pancakes filled with fresh cheese and baked in the oven. Although apparently a very simple dish, it required a lot of patience and attention during the entire preparation process.
