Kvarner Colony of Authors’ Comics and Illustrations Vol.3

KVARNER COLONY OF AUTHORS’ COMICS AND ILLUSTRATIONS, Vol.3, was held from November 16^th  through 19^th 2023, on our premises at the DIP (Society for Research and Support, Wenzelova 2/1, Rijeka). Impressions are still settling from this one-of-a-kind gathering, where numerous artists from Croatia created new works together. This model of creating new works also proved fruitful this time. Over the course of two full working days and a little more hours, about forty new comic strips and comic illustrations were created!

15 authors of comics and illustrations participated in the work of the Colony:

Dušan Gačić, Darko Macan, Helena Klakočar, Franjo Anžlovar, Matija Pisačić, Nina Klarić and Jan Škrinjar from Zagreb

Irena Jukić from Bjelovar

Anamarija Kvas from Čabr

Damir Stojnić, Saša Jovanović, Enver Krivac and Ana Marija Lončar from Rijeka

Damir Bralić from Kastav and

Damir Steinfl from Opatija.

The authors are finishing the works they started these days, and new plans are being made, for new meetings and new cultural products, the new Colony vol.4 in 2024, as well as the new issue of “Irrationalist”.

The Colony is financed by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and the organizer and host of the project is the DIP, while Damir Steinfl is the artistic director, with an advisory team consisting of Matija Pisačić and Damir Stojnić.
