About Us

The Association of tourist guides in Kvarner was founded in 1998 in Rijeka. The association has 82 members, all tourist guides who speak 14 world languages. Most guides hold licences for the Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Lika-Senj, and Istria counties, while some members have extended their knowledge and expertise to other counties.

The main goal of the association is to bring together tourist guides, protect the rights of guides and their profession, and promote and safeguard cultural-historical and natural values, both tangible and intangible heritage, not only of their region but also of the whole of Croatia. Through numerous training sessions, educational trips, meetings, gatherings, and collaborations, we continually expand our knowledge and take great pride in all our members who represent their region and country with love.

Accessible Services:

We gather licensed tourist guides who work across several regions in Croatia and abroad. Our guides have experience working with a variety of tourist groups that require customised tours. Through the project “Tourism for Me,” several guides have been trained to prepare customised tours for sightseeing or travel guidance. Our skills were assessed by DIP members, people with disabilities facing various challenges. We were tasked with creating a sightseeing tour for the landmarks of our city, Rijeka, for these groups. After completing the project, we will continue our training to contribute to the development of accessible tourism and share our knowledge with diverse groups of tourists.
