Accessibility indicators of dip.hr websites

Accessibility indicators of dip.hr websites

October 2023

The preparation of “easy-to-read” texts adapted to various needs of persons with disabilities, texts that are comprehensible to people who speak Croatian or English poorly, and people who have intellectual and other reading difficulties, under European standards for creating easy-to-understand texts, is underway. Information can be found at: https://www.inclusion-europe.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/HR_Information_for_all.pdf

When creating texts, we will use the Guide for creating easy-to-understand texts. https://www.inclusion-europe.eu/easy-to-read-standards-guidelines/,

Test whether a document or yours or ours is adapted and easy to understand, with this assessment list: https://www.inclusion-europe.eu/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Easy-to-read-checklist-Inclusion-Europe .pdf

ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

The website dip.hr is the website of the Association for Research and Support (DIP), which primarily works for persons with disabilities. We strive to make our websites accessible under the Act on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies (“Official Gazette”, number 17/19; hereinafter: Accessibility Act) transposing Directive (EU) 2016 /2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 26th, 2016 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327 of December 2nd, 2016). Although we are under no legal obligation to do this, we strive to be an example of good practice for other organizations and legal bodies. This statement on accessibility applies to internet pages on the website www.dip.hr

Degree of compliance

These websites are largely aligned with the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies and the CARNET Guidelines for Ensuring Digital Accessibility, which have been reviewed and approved by all leading national associations of persons with disabilities.

By installing the UserWay plugin for accessibility, most of the requirements of the European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08) are met.

  Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was made in October 2023. The method used to prepare the statement is a self-assessment conducted by the DIP.

Feedback and contact information

If the user needs information that is published on the dip.hr website in an inaccessible form, or notices inconsistencies that are not covered by the description from the Inaccessible content item, the user can contact us:

  • via e-mail to the address [email protected]
  • by phone at 091 5580920 during working hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • by mail to the address Wenzelova 2 Street, Rijeka.

Every comment and suggestion aimed at increasing accessibility is important to us, so that we can improve accessibility to the different needs of users. The DIP association is committed to responsible communication with users, so it made a decision to ensure accessibility and undertook the obligation to answer all questions that can improve the provision of information. As such, it is obliged to respond to a user’s inquiry, notification or request within 15 days of the day of receipt, or give a detailed explanation of the reasons that necessitate a postponement, as well as provide information about the subsequent period in which they will respond to them.

Procedure for monitoring the implementation of regulations

The body responsible for monitoring the compliance of websites and software solutions for mobile devices of public sector bodies with accessibility requirements, and supervising the implementation of the Accessibility Act, is the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Croatia. The DIP is not a public sector body, so it has no obligation to ensure accessibility, but we consider it extremely important that as many legal bodies/organizations operating in the civil or private sector are as accessible as possible to persons with disabilities so that the information that is of interest to them is as available and affordable as can be at any given time.
