We started the week by going to the Green Kastav fair. In addition to collecting donations by “adopting” our handicrafts, attending this fair has many other benefits for our members: increasing visibility and social inclusion, socializing with other fair participants and potential buyers, acquiring work habits and teamwork skills, etc.
On Tuesday, friends from the Rijeka Association for Persons with Intellectual Difficulties, “Heart”, visited us. We held group psychosocial support for our users. We talked about the importance of self-control and how we can positively influence our own behavior. After socializing and activities, we dedicated ourselves to cleaning up DIP.
Wednesday was reserved for a music activity with our volunteer, Lucija. Unlike music activities with drums, in this activity we use our own body as an instrument where we create rhythm and sound with our hands (clapping) and feet. Music activities contribute to the development of motor skills and improving attention and concentration.
On Thursday we held an IT activity. Did you know that at DIP, we put a great emphasis on improving IT competencies among our members?
We ended the week with our Zoom tea party. We talked about plans for the future. There were a record number of us!”
