A round table was held as part of the public campaign “Life in the community” of the project ” Going through life together “.

Yesterday, April 27^th, 2022, the Association of Youth Associations of the Primorsko-goranska County (SUMA) held a round table as part of the public campaign “Life in the Community”, the project “Together through Life”, on the topic of inclusive social services in the community – to meet new challenges.

The work program was as follows:

1. Presentation of the Joint Life project – representatives of the Center for Inclusion and Support in the Community, Pula
2. Get to know us! representatives of self-advocates and representatives of the parent support group
3. Financing models of social services for the priority group (institutional vs. non-institutional, in a broader/in a narrower sense)
4. Announcement – examination of the needs for social services in the group of  people with combined disabilities (intellectual, from the spectrum of autism, mental illness, etc.) – mapping of needs in the community
5. Announcement of the round table to be held in May, 2022

The project “Going through life together” is implemented by the Center for Inclusion and Support in the Community with partners: the Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities “Golubica”, Vukovar, the Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, “Suncokret”, Nova Gradiška and the Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Istria, from May 1^st, 2020 to May 1^st,2022.

The purpose of the project is to increase the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and their families, through individualized support and the development of inclusive social services in the areas of Vukovarsko-srijemska, Osiječko-baranjska, Brodsko-posavska, Bjelovarsko-bilogorska, Karlovačka, Ličko-senjska, Primorsko-goranska and Istarska County. The aforementioned purpose will be achieved through a series of educations, a review of good practices, the provision of inclusive social services and a public campaign.

The target groups of the project are from the area of 8 project counties: 60 people with intellectual disabilities, 40 family members and foster families, and 40 experts who work with persons with intellectual disabilities. The total budget of the project and the amount of grants is HRK 1,487,694.26.

The project is financed with 85% from the European Social Fund, the Operational Program Effective Human Resources 2014-2020, within the framework of the call Expansion of the network of social services in the community phase 1, and with 15% from the Budget of the Republic of Croatia.
